The following describes Shivat Zion’s Terms of Use, Conditions, Privacy Policy & Disclaimer and includes policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use our services and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

  • “Account” means a unique account created for you to access our service or parts of our service.
  • “Website or site” refers to Shivat Zion/the Association for the advancement of Giving and Social Progress in Israel (R.A.), accessible at www.shivat-zion.com
  • “Service” refers to the website or actual services, guidance or assistance provided by Shivat Zion.
  • “Country” refers to Israel.
  • “Service Provider” means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of Shivat Zion. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by Shivat Zion to facilitate services, to provide services on behalf of Shivat Zion, to perform services related to Shivat Zion or to assist the Shivat Zion in analyzing how the service is used.
  • “Third-party Social Media Service” refers to any website or any social network website through which a user can log in or create an account to use the Service.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

Shivat Zion will not be liable for any damage caused to a user or any third party, directly or indirectly resulting from the use of the service, including damages caused due to use of SW applications directly downloaded through the service, or activated as a result of the use of the service, and the users will be solely responsible for the manner in which they use the service.


Shivat Zion will not be responsible for any third parties’ publications on the website, including any publications or information or content in any search engines, such as Google, Bing, etc., and will not be responsible for removal of content published in these sites (such as search engine index).

We need this information in order to assist you in your Aliyah process and address your specific needs.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our website and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our service.

If you interact with other users or register through a Third-Party Social Media Service, Your contacts on the Third-Party Social Media Service may see your name, profile, pictures and description of your activity. Similarly, other users will be able to view descriptions of your activity, communicate with you and view your profile.
  • To the Jewish Agency. The Jewish Agency is bound by contractual and other legal obligations to keep personal data confidential and use it only for the purposes for which it is disclosed to them, which may involve providing that information to third parties.
  • Law enforcement and data protection authorities, if it is necessary in order to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request when we in good faith believe it is necessary for us to do so.
  • Potential employers and headhunters.
  • Further, we might refer you to other organizations, which help Olim. If you request that we speak to the organization directly in order to serve you better, we will share your personal information with these organizations.
  • We take proper steps to ensure that recipients of your personal data are bound to duties of confidentiality and we implement data protection contractual clauses between the Parties to ensure that any transferred Personal Data remains protected and secure.

Subject to certain exemptions, and in some cases dependent upon the processing activity we are undertaking, you may have, under certain applicable laws, some or all of the following rights in respect to your Personal Information. We remind you that we are an Israeli organization. We specifically mention the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), a European Union wide legal framework for the standardization of data protection. We are not required to comply with your request to erase personal data if the processing of it is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

When we receive a request to exercise one of these rights, we will indicate what personal information we require from you to validate your identity. We will also provide information on the action we intend to take on the request without undue delay. Please note, these requests are subject to applicable legal or document retention obligations imposed on us.

We keep your personal data electronically only as long as necessary to provide you with Shivat Zion services, and for legitimate business and legal purposes, including a legal obligation imposed by governmental agencies upon Shivat Zion to save this data. Since persons often request our assistance post-Aliyah, unless you request otherwise, we will retain your personal data post-Aliyah electronically so that we can assist you and follow up in your absorption process, or if we reasonably believe there are prospects of legal proceedings relating to the information. Our general policy is to retain your information for at least ten years after you provide them.

Shivat Zion’s website is not directed at children nor do we knowingly collect personal information directly from children (persons under the age of 13, or another age if required by applicable law). However, we will collect personal data regarding children from their parents or guardians because this information is required to provide the services. If you are a parent or guardian of a child who has provided personal information without your knowledge and consent, you may request we remove this child’s information by emailing us at info[at]shivat-zion.com.

All copyrights and intellectual property rights on the site, the services offered and the Data included therein, are owned by the Shivat Zion or by third party licensors which allow Shivat Zion to use it in the framework of the site.

Any quote of the site’s content should indicate the quote(s) source. It is prohibited to use the material by way of falsification, disruption or other modification, or any other harmful act, which may cause damage to the name or goodwill of the copyrights’ owner. You may not copy, distribute, transmit or publish the information in or at any place, format or time, and through any type of media (radio, television, press, etc.), including digital means, without the prior written consent of the owners of the rights to the data. Shivat Zion exerts all efforts to prevent infringement of rights, and in case of an infringement, will exert immediate efforts to remove the infringing information, promptly following receipt of the data owners’ notice in this respect.

Shivat Zion reserves its right to make website modifications, including in the website’s structure, the services offered, their content, scope and availability, links and any other change, as it may deem appropriate at its sole discretion, and without the need to post any prior notice.

Users shall not have any claim and/or demand against Shivat Zion in relation to any such changes or due to any problems encountered while performing such changes.

Shivat Zion is entitled to close down the website and to cease rendering the services therein, at any time.

You hereby undertake to indemnify Shivat Zion, its employees, managers or anyone of its behalf, from any damage, loss, loss of profits, cost or expense incurred or suffered by any of them, including court costs and attorneys’ fees, due to a breach of these Terms of Use.

In addition, you will indemnify the Shivat Zion, its employees, managers or anyone of its behalf, from any claim, action and/or demand brought against them by a third party in relation to data or content provided/uploaded by you.

The use of this website and provided information shall be governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts of Jerusalem shall have sole jurisdiction in any matters arising from these Terms of Use or the use of the website and provided information.
