The Civil Service Commission places great importance on integrating new immigrants!

Who is considered a new immigrant for purposes of Civil Service employment?
Anyone who immigrated to Israel at age 18 or older, less than 12 years ago.

Special benefits for new immigrants in the selection process:

  1. Option to be tested in a foreign language (in addition to the mandatory Hebrew test)
  2. “Affirmative action” in determining acceptable scores, so as to allow immigrants an equal opportunity to be accepted for work, even if they do not meet the regular requirements
  3. Extension of the deadline for providing documents regarding education
  4. Eligibility for re-examination in another 6 months (instead of a year)

Getting started:

  1. Register in the National Identification System
  2. Enter the Civil Service Commission recruitment website
  3. Search for suitable positions and submit applications
  4. To be identified as immigrants, in the “Personal Details” form, enter the country of origin and date of immigration
  5. Under “Employment Diversity,” mark “New Immigrants” and attach your immigrant certificate/teudat oleh
  6. Many positions require academic education as a prerequisite. Olim who completed their studies at higher education institutions abroad are required to have their degree evaluated. For evaluation: if you immigrated before 1.1.2025, contact the Ministry of Education website; if you immigrated after 1.1.2025, contact the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration through the personal area on the ministry’s website.

Selection stages and tests:

  1. Check of compliance with threshold conditions (education, experience, citizenship, etc.).
  2. Computerized psycho-technical tests (logic, quantitative, verbal and visual thinking, etc.), with time limits.
  3. Personality tests and participation in assessment center exercises (personality questionnaires, personal interview, group exercises).
  4. Professional interview with an examining committee.
  5. Receipt of an answer.

Important tips:

  1. Learn about the ministry and the position you are applying for, this will help you in interviews and tests.
  2. Practice psycho-technical tests and personality tests. There are websites and institutes that offer simulations and preparation.
