Beyond finding a suitable job, these organizations offer:

  • Preparation workshops for the work world
  • Assistance with resume writing
  • Job interview preparation

Contact the Senior Age Departments in your municipality or local authority – sometimes there’s personal guidance and unique positions there.

Don’t forget Facebook groups and job search engines – just like the young people!

New olim? You may have an advantage!
Proficiency in additional languages is an asset! Especially in service roles, instruction, or work with diverse populations.

What about salary?
Usually, the starting salary for senior citizens is lower than the average salary in the economy. But there are positions in certain fields that allow a higher salary in line with experience and depending on the field.

Income tax benefits:
Working senior citizens may be entitled to additional tax benefits if their spouse does not work or receive a pension.

Is it possible to continue receiving the senior pension from Bituach Leumi (National Insurance)?
Yes! You can work and receive the senior pension, but there’s an income test:

  • Up to age 70: There’s an income limit – those who earn above a certain amount might receive only partial pension or, if the salary exceeds a certain amount, no pension.
  • From age 70: No income test – everyone is entitled to full senior pension, even if they work.
