Aliyah from the UK has increased by more than 70 percent since 2023, according to data from the Jewish Agency, prompting Shivat Zion to launch a £65,000 end-of-year fundraising campaign to respond to rapidly growing demand.

The number of British Jews making aliyah rose from 391 in 2023 to 577 by October 2025. This included a 76 percent increase between 2023 and 2024, followed by a further 20 percent rise in 2025, with expectations that the trend will continue into 2026.

Shivat Zion, which is officially authorised by the Jewish Agency, reports unprecedented demand from individuals and families seeking support not only with the aliyah process itself but also with preparation for life in Israel. In the first 11 months of 2025, the organisation received 25 percent more requests for assistance than during the whole of 2024. Use of its online services and digital tools also rose by 30 percent.

The charity says this rise reflects a broader shift across Europe since the 7 October attacks, as growing concerns about antisemitism lead more Jews to consider aliyah as a long-term path to security and stability.

By November 2025, Shivat Zion had supported more than 500 complex aliyah cases, handled approximately 5,000 individual requests and held hundreds of one-to-one preparation meetings — representing a further 30 percent increase compared with last year.

Shraga Evers, CEO of Shivat Zion, said the organisation is seeing “a strong wave of commitment from British Jews who feel that now is the right time to come home,” adding that demand continues to outpace capacity.

The fundraising campaign, launched ahead of Chanukah and the end of the year, aims to ensure that Shivat Zion can continue providing free, personalised aliyah and integration support into 2026 and beyond.
