Have you been affected by the war? Perhaps the Sha’agat HaAri Fund can help
The Jewish Agency is launching the “Sha’agat HaAri” (“Roaring Lion”) Emergency Fund, to provide immediate financial assistance to civilians affected by the war. The fund operates in collaboration with the Jewish Federations of North America, Keren Hayesod, Ruach Yisraelit, and donors from around the world.
What does the assistance include?
An emergency grant of approximately 4,000 NIS per household, according to their criteria.
Who is eligible?
- Bereaved families who have lost loved ones and who have been recognized by Bituach Leumi (National Insurance)
- People injured by rocket fire, whose injuries were defined as “moderate” or “severe” and were hospitalized for more than 48 hours
- Citizens whose homes were hit by rocket fire (according to the established criteria)
Important points:
- Eligibility is determined by inspection and verification by official entities (hospitals/local authorities)
- Apartment tenants may also be eligible (upon presentation of a valid rental contract)
- There is no double eligibility for an emergency grant
- Minor or aesthetic injuries alone do not entitle one to a grant
Locating eligible people is done proactively through the authorities, welfare agencies, or the fund staff.
Worth noting: The Jewish Agency will review each application in accordance with the updated eligibility conditions, criteria, and amounts. The information in this post is general only, and the full conditions are determined by the Jewish Agency and may be updated from time to time.
