This week, Israel celebrates Aliyah Day (Yom HaAliyah)— a day dedicated to you, the olim who’ve chosen to open a new page in this country, and fill it with languages, cultures and stories from all over the world
It’s no coincidence that this day is celebrated right along with the Torah portion of Lech Lecha — in which Abraham is commanded to leave his country and go “to the land that I will show you.”
In a similar vein, you too have made a brave journey, you’ve left your family, your familiar home, language and landscapes – and followed your dream, hope and faith on a new path in the Land of Israel.
On this day, in particular, it is important for us to express our appreciation for the journey you are taking – your journey is part of the story of all of us, a story of courage, identity and hope.
