After having made Aliyah, there are a number of things to do. These are the first steps of Klita you should take. The order of the steps is crucial. Without a bank account you cannot take the next steps.

What You Will Need:

Make sure to have your Passport, Teudat Zehut and Teudat Oleh with you.

If you do not receive a temporary Teudat Zehut (תעודת זהות) identity card upon arrival at the airport, you should receive the Sefach (ספח), an appendix, with your identity number. You will need to visit the Misrad HaPnim (משרד הפנים) Ministry of Interior, first to request your Teudat Zehut card before proceeding with the following steps. To request an appointment at the Misrad HaPnim, click here or call *3450.

Steps to Take:

Choose an Israeli bank and open a bank account. It is recommended to choose a bank that is near your home or work. How to open a bank account is explained here.

Once you’ve opened and activated your bank account, set an appointment with the Ministry of Immigration & Absorption (Misrad HaKlita) in your city. You will then start to receive your Sal Klita (basket of benefits). Find more details here.

Before you made Aliyah, you probably chose a Kupat Cholim (HMO). Go to a branch and get registered. You can find more details here.

One of your benefits is a Hebrew Language course (Ulpan). You will receive more information during your first visit at Misrad HaKlita.

If you have children, set an appointment with the school manager in order to arrange schooling for them. You can find more details here.
