If you make Aliyah with pets, the pets have to get approved, or they won’t be allowed to enter Israel. Make sure to provide all the required documents. Check the requirements in advance in order to have enough time to vaccinate your pets and to inject the microchip.

What You Will Need:

Your pet needs to have a microchip for identification. This chip is injected under the skin.

Steps to Take:

Your pet has to be vaccinated against rabies no more than one year and no less than 30 days prior to its arrival in Israel.

30 days after the rabies vaccination, a serological test by an OIE-approved laboratory, which states that the rabies neutralizing antibody titer was equal to or greater than 0,5 IU/ml, is required.

This certificate must be issued within 10 days prior to the arrival in Israel and signed by a government veterinarian of the country of origin. You can find it here (page 3-4).

Send the notification form and the photocopy of the veterinary certificate to the offices of the Veterinary Services at the airport. It must be sent 2 workdays prior to departure. Find the form here (page 5).

Attach a declaration to the health certificate, confirming that the pet had been in the owner’s possession at least 90 days prior to being brought to Israel. Find the declaration here (page 6).

Important Note:

Further information on all the above points can be found here.
