When your Aliyah process is stuck...
Today, we spoke with a Latin American Oleh who has been waiting for over eight months for a response from the Ministry of the Interior (Misrad HaPnim) regarding his request for Aliyah. The Oleh had provided the same documents for the proof of Judaism as the rest of his family, who has already completed the process, yet he is still waiting for a response.
We could sense the frustration in his voice as he spoke about the long frustrating waiting period and the uncertainty surrounding his application. It must be difficult to be in such a situation, where you have fulfilled all the necessary requirements, yet still cannot move forward.
As his guide, we suggested that the first step in dealing with this is to contact the Misrad Hapnim (Ministry of the Interior) and request a statement of the status of his case. This will provide him with a clear understanding of where his application stands and what further steps need to be taken.
We also advised him to seek guidance on his specific situation, as there could be certain factors that are causing the delay. With the right information and support, we hope this Oleh will be able to complete the Aliyah process and begin his new life in Israel soon.
